The graston technique for soft tissue.

There are various treatment methods I use as a Holistic Chiropractor. Today I am going to talk about one of these treatments, called the Graston Technique.

The Graston Technique is also known as Graston Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. Using a specialized set of tools, Graston Technique is an extremely effective treatment for musculoskeletal pain. It’s great for dealing with acute and especially chronic pain syndromes. Pain from post surgical scars and adhesion’s as well as old sports injuries are the most common problems that we are able to help with this technique.

Using specialized instruments, the Graston Technique stretches connective tissue and muscle fibers, as well as increases the blood flow to and from the affected area. This technique increases cellular activity to the region and histamine response.

The Graston Technique Instruments used are stainless steel. I comb over the affected area to identify the areas of restriction as it “catches” on the fibrotic tissues. This causes the scar tissue to break up and absorb into the body.
